I'm pretty good at trading the open, and do so with the NY open on the ES.
Since I'm comfortable with dealing with the open, would it be good to also trade the London open?
I'm really trying to figure out which open would the best route, since I don't want to work the graveyard shift, but have considered trading both since I feel I might be leaving money on the table.
Does anyone else here trade both opens? How miserable is the graveyard shift while trading?
If you're good at trading the US open then why not simply increase your trade size? Currency trading is not the same as index trading IMO because there is no actual 'open' that opens the starting gate for currencies. They are traded for 24 hours as you know, and whilst from 7am onwards UK time the liquidity markedly increases, there is no guarantee of a surge of liquidity, starting at 8am, in the same way that indices have as the stocks are largely not available to trade pretty open. You can whack in a large trade in eurusd at 7.30am if you want to. It's just not the same as stocks. We are all after consistency and I don't think that currencies consistently trade in a consistent manner like indices. But opinions are like...
