I noticed that not many people trade CL so even though I have never posted anything on there I decided that I am going to try and post my trades here winning and losing, emotions, FOMO, and everything else that is going on.

Just to give you some background on me, I've been trading on and off for about 8 years options, stocks, futures and a little forex. I took my first CL trade in 2010. I have always followed the swings in oil and love it and I have been examining oil and only oil for about 2 years.

WHY AM I POSTING MY TRADES
I am a totally lonely trade (depressing) lol.
I am currently trading OIL CFD's and even though the spread is wide I dont want too trade in my futures account until I can control myself and grow my account.

I have a profitable system and set of rules that do work but my problem is following my rules. I get carried away and winning trades blow my head up. Im looking to associate myself with other traders because I do not know any traders and the traders I do know have given up on trading.

Some folks trade CL here and if you look around, you'll find quite a few references to CL trading:

You do need to be an Elite member to see the better threads, and it's a wise use of $100.

I appreciate the response I still would like to place my trades here for now and when I can afford the $100 I would be more than happy too contribute.

You're extremely welcome to post your trades in any way you like, and I -- and probably others -- will follow along with interest. Trading does get lonely, and everyone has essentially the same issues, which we try to solve in different ways, so it's good to connect with people who understand them.

The "Scalper's Journey" thread that mlm mentioned is a good one, but you will find many traders with the same basic interests as you have, no matter where you post. Welcome.

Bob.

I too favor /CL (specifically options on /CL). With regards to breaking your rules, I too had that problem. Occasionally I would get one of my custom alerts telling me to get out of a trade, and I might disagree with at that moment or question if it was a good rule. Almost every time I would have been better off listening to my alert immediately without hesitation. To prevent my future self from making this mistake, I got more descriptive and assertive with my alerts, something along the lines of "GTFO!! No seriously, GTFO. Even if you disagree, GTFO." Haha. It worked! I didn't argue.

There is a time for tweaking your rules, and it's not when the rule and is triggered. The time for tweaking is after thorough post analysis of a large number of trades, real or simulated.
