NinjaTrader Users Please up-vote these feature requests

Greetings fellow NinjaTrader Users!

I have been seriously kicking the tires on the NT8 since migrating from 7 around 5 months ago. Since then I have been working with them to improve a few of the bugs / technical aspects of their platform that I have found. As you can imagine they have quite an ambitious list of new features and functionality that they are looking to roll out from 8.12 and >. So the odds of any feature request coming from a user like myself may be a distant priority, and I can appreciate that. I would never expect a software company to release a feature that only satisfies the need of 1-2 users while ignoring the masses.

But there are two items that I have been working with them on that I would love to see implemented on the next release because one is a fundamental stability issues with their platform and the other deals with the integrity and accuracy of the simulation engine.

I am a big fan of NinjaTrader and I am not knocking them in any way, I just want to see them prioritize these two items so that the issues I found can be addressed quickly. If we can get a few users to login and say, these items are important then hopefully these items will get addressed in their next release. I realize these aren't as sexy as some of the more innovative things they are working on, but these are fundamental blocking and tackling type of things that I think should be addressed ahead of any new features.

I can provide more details if needed, but following the links I provided will give you an overview of the items that I have been working with their support team on.

They are great guys to work with, and they have been very supportive of my interests but I still think I have a better shot at these getting fixed if the larger community up-votes these. So please take a look and help up-vote if you can.

I just heard back from Patrick at NinjaTrader and they have been able to resolve the unresponsiveness issue I had on 8.11. They informed me that the fix would be part of the 8.12 release! So this is great news. If anyone else is on 8.11 here is a brief explanation of the issue.

If you are running NT heavy, (and this can be printing lots of information to the output window, running multiple charts, or running a really intense auto-strategy) and in the middle of processing data, you click generate on a trade performance window there is a good chance the entire platform will just become unresponsive. This isn't a hard crash, but the live data feed stops updating, and you will have to restart it. I hit this issue fairly easy because of how hard I ran it. Others may not be running it quite as hard, so refreshing the trade performance in the middle of things may not be as detrimental. But this was essentially the issue I found. In the meantime I have been running 8.10 fine for a few weeks now, and have not hit any issues yet.

So at this point, the other item I raised: ( SFT-2955 ) concerning the SIM engine, is the one that I could use some up-votes on. Basically NT has a very good SIM engine overall, but I found scenarios where fills would occur without supporting volume, and I wrote an auto-strategy to target these scenarios specifically and shared it with them. If they could resolve this one item then I believe they would have the best SIM engine on the market. It would help all of us ensure out testing was as realistic as possible. So it would be to everyones benefit to have this area as optimized as possible.
