Hello, I am new to this forum. I am looking for a broker that will take on a smaller trader in Canada. I tried RJOB but I am too small for them to take on so was hoping for some advice.

I have traded in the past...quite a few years ago, had some success, but then got lazy and instead of directing the trades myself, allowed a broker to do it for me. Initially, had some good success, but then it got derailed and I have only myself to blame for being lazy in the first place.

Anyway, any advise would be most appreciated

When I was testing Ninja Trader I opened an account with $2,000 US at MBTrading in Manhattan Beach CA. Those guys were great, always helpful and knowledgeable pros. Plus most of their staff then was into jiu jitsu, so we understood each other.

If by small, you mean limited funding please be very patient and use extreme wisdom when you consider risk capital.

Dan

Thanks Dan for the advice. Yes, by small I do mean limited funds. I am very cautious now, in fact it has taken me quite a few years to venture back into this. Not because I lost my shirt, because I didn't, but more because I lost faith in myself because I let the control slip from my fingers into someone else's.

Now, I will also add this. I am not entirely new to this, but I think the game has changed a bit over the years. I have followed a couple of courses, mostly by David Duty, and am curious on people's opinions on him. I, personally have found him to be very easy to deal with, talk to, access etc. He seems to be a very cautious trader as well, and does not make glorious claims. Seems very straightforward to me. Just curious on other's opinions..if there are any.

Thanks again!!

I do not know that person and I am sorry if that post was patronizing. I am sensitive to the situations that cause real people to lose money. From time to time I post trades in my journal. Mostly I type things out there as a way of talking or thinking through them.

If you want to hear an opinion, unvarnished authentic opinion, type it or post it. If I don't know, I'll say so. If I disagree I'll question with logic and reason based on a lot of experience AND if you say/post something that makes me better I will be grateful. Dan

Thanks again Dan,

I did not take that as patronizing. Until I am an established and very wealthy trader, (and even then) I am always open to people's opinions and advice. I am grateful for words of caution, and know that you can't teach experience. I have a long way to go, but I am willing to start the journey.
