I know it is Futures forum but have a question for someone who trades stocks on US market - I cannot find codes for Sectors anywhere - checked GICS site and only found some numbers.
On our market (ASX) the sectors e.g Energy has a code XEJ - so I can quickly get a chart of the sector and then, if looks interesting, check some of the sector stocks.
So far I could not find those codes for US market (SP500 stocks).
Anyone knows?
Many thanks in advance.
Cheers,
romus
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Very good - but these are just ETF's - does it mean that US sectors do not have the code?
ASX sectors reflect the prices in the sector, not the performance of the specific (related) fund.
Anyway, thank you as this is close enough to what I would like to use it for.
Many thanks.
I can see it is not as straightforward as on our market.
The sector components (and sector names) I was able to get from Barchart.com - getting the codes for the sector is quite a secret! :-)
Both sources very useful - thank you again,
romus.
