Hi guys,

I am completely new to futures trading, and I would like to know what is the best source to get historical data on commodity futures? I don't need tick data, one minute or even one hour data is good enough since I plan to trade intermediate-term strategies. I am looking for reliable data and would be willing to pay for it. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

I've seen data for download. And these people are serious about testing so I wouldn't think they would use less than reliable data.

If you are a new futures trader, I wouldn’t pay for the charting services. Especially if you are planning to trade intermediate-term strategies, I would recommend one of the IB’s free charting services.
"Cannontrading.com/tools/futures-quotes-and-charts" or "Futures.tradingcharts.com"

Download thinkorswim from TD Ameritrade. Many mathematical studies to play around with too.

I also have much data plotted, would do more if you want to pay for it.

Quandl has free data or you can get historical data with IQFeed (minute data history is limited though).

On commodities daily data might be enough for intermediate term strategies. It depends on which commodities you are interested.

I use Market Replay data. You can choose not to download the tick data with them. They are reasonably priced and reliable.
