Does anyone have an InteractiveBrokers/Sierrachart/CQG combination?
Going through the help file makes it sound like IB and SC is highly problematic combination.

Just wanting to know if anyone has encountered any problems in general with this setup.

Many thanks.

CQG and IB are incompatible.
Instrument access is managed through the user account portal of IB.
Trying to figure that out now...and research IB data reliability.

I have run IB and Sierra without a problem for the past year. No CQG though. The Sierra instructions for IB does sound intimidating but if you follow the directions, it should work.

Thats good news. Do you use their data and how do you find it?
Currently with CQG there is a base charge I think of $20 and then $5 per exchange.

IB has a US value bundle option which includes depth on CBOT, CME, COMEX, and NYMEX. All for $5.

What have you got configured?

Thanks.

I use the Sierra Charts data. For what I do, swing trading, it works great. You do not need the IB data if you use the Sierra Charts complete real-time data package.

What do you mean by "base charge" ?

SierraChart (Package 3) comes with history data and it's free of charge when used with CQG. For realtime data individuals who do not feel they are professionals have to pay $5/exchange.

Im not sure?? I get charged a base charge of $25 per month to CQG and then have to pay an additional $5 per exchange.

Am I being shafted?

Edit:
Just checked Sierra pricing. To get access to the exchange you still have to pay the Real-time data connection of 35USD. No getting around this. $5/exchange thereafter.

This is the case and their time charts are snapshots only. If I remember right they are taking samples about 3 times per second or something like that. Normally this is not a problem but in some cases maybe.

Could it be u have chosen Package 5 instead of 3 ?

Package 3 is free when used on CQG. I have been using this combination something about 3 years now so...
