i have 4 monitors now using 2 dual video cards . Whats the best way to get 6 . The only way i see is using the eyefinity 6 setup with display ports but i heard they run really hot and is overkill for charts . Any other recommendation for a 6 monitor setup ?
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
One systems uses the AMD firepro, which i'm not very happy with
the other system uses 2 x MSI GTX 960 cards
while both systems have 6 identical monitors, the first uses 6x same cable
the second is using all the different ports on the GTX card, which also works
as the monitors have multiple inputs
If you want to avoid Eyefinity and you aren't using the system for gaming,
the Nvidia professional series is an option. Quadro Sync/Sync II cards support
up to 16/32 displays screens per system.
P.S.: The energy consumption / TDP of the professional cards is way lower than
that of gamer / miner cards.
Modern Intel chips with built in graphics will support at least 2 x monitors at 1080P. A basic graphics card like a 960 will support 4 monitors. There's your 6. Very easy.

I want to build a PC with 10x 1080p, and don't want to destroy all the budget with graphics cards and adaptors.
Any recomendations?

You could do this cost effectively running either 2x gaming cards or 3x multi media style cards. I've never used usb/ graphics card adaptors, that method seems very inefficient.
Personally, I run 6 monitors via 2 x graphics card( 3x monitors each card). I use an Xeon chip which doesn't support onboard graphics, so my setup would only support up to 8 monitors( 4 x each card) If I was using a standard Intel chip eg ( i3,i5,i7 etc) then I could support up to 10-11( with 2-3 x monitors running from integrated graphics)
The most cost effective way to run 10x monitors could be to run with 3x low-end multi media cards, and run 3x monitors per card, and then 1 x monitor through your integrated graphics. So this should work with both standard Intel( i3,i5,i7 etc) and most AMD chips.
*You would have to make sure that some of your monitors have VGA inputs, if not, then you could just buy adapters for $5( DVI-VGA or HDMI-VGA etc). You would also need to make sure your motherboard has 3 x PCIe slots( which most do).
People often recommend NVIDIA Quadro cards for multi monitor setups, however, most of the time they are unnecessary. If you're worried about TDP, the 710's are only 19w each. I've also seen people mention that noise can be an issue with some multimedia/ gaming cards, which IMO is mostly nonsense. From experience, i know that Gaming cards are only noisy under load, and running quad monitors with a trading platform will hardly put any strain on a modern card. The noisiest thing in your case is going to be the CPU or case fans.

curious to know if you or anyone you know can help me with cursor lag, I run 6 monitors on 2 x GT710 Gcards on a i5 MoBo, for some reason which ever card is in the bottom slot those 3 monitors have cursor lag seems to be better when using the pointer,
i've contacted Nvidia ASUS and some gamers forums + various other people but no one seems to have a solution, other than swapping the boards (i have no diff) the ASUS people want me to send the box to Sydney, local pc Drs are a waste of time, upgraded the Bios driver etc etc, there is some stuff about the X16 rate when you use both slots but i have no idea what it means,
MoBo is a P7P55D-E ASUS all GC are ASUS too, love the 6 monitors just a bummer they don't all go the same speed,
anyway thought i'd ask given you seem to have some knowledge,
