Apologies if this has been asked before, I'm Nic and I've recently started to look at trading, what it is and how it works and so far all I've found is that there a lot of misconceptions about how easy this is and that I need to know a lot more. Since I've stumbled onto these forums I've been so overwhelmed by the amount of content (not that I don't enjoy reading a lot of the information even if I don't fully understand what is being said and I think this is an amazing community)

I would only want to start trading with a small account (I'm also not looking to get rich quick and I think all of the trading courses I've seen advertised don't teach you what you need) so that I can learn without losing a lot and also learn risk management better and from what I've looked at I'm interested in the futures market and to learn price action.

The thing is I've seen so many different things here on different styles markets you name it that I feel I've jumped into the deep end and didn't learn to swim at first, So I'm wondering if I can get the amazing advice of the collective community, which I might say, the elite membership here is one of the few things I've seen that is a worthwhile investment that I am looking to get in the future. Any advice would be appreciated

Hi Nick, welcome to the forum. First, I'm no expert, just my opinion. I think you should first learn to trade on a simulator.
Learn how to enter and exit trades, how to add indicators, and how the platform operates. If you can't make money on a simulator, you won't make money trading live. Once you've practiced for a while, things you read on the forum will make more sense to you and you can ask questions. Trading is a life long process and can take many years before you can be profitable...
Things I wouldn't do: Treat the simulator like an video game. Pay someone for a system or an indicator. Pay someone to trade for you. Trade with money that you can't afford to lose. Trade live before you can consistently make money on the simulator. Try to copy someone else's trading plan(Learn your own sytle of trading).
Last, Keep a journal... It can help you from repeating the same mistakes.

I hope this helps.

George
