Does anyone know what kind of factors/criteria the Ninjatrader MachineID is based on - assume its based on the hardware in the system or Windows?? I have a problem with a software vendor and as the software is linked to the Ninjatrader servers, I was trying understand what could stop the software from working if something in the computer changes.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
It is based on the Windows machine Id and that in turn appears to be based on a combination of anything that changes the boot configuration/Mac address.
To the Ninjatrader server not
but most likely you will have to re-activate your windows license
and your commercial indicator if it relies on the machine ID
It's related to what makes a PC "unique", not simply the Mac @.
It might be possible to cheat but I won't go into the details as it won't be fair/legal.
I just updated my BIOS on my PC and it caused NT to request I reenter my license key, and 3rd party commercial vendor indicators to need a new license... For the 3rd party folks I went to NT control panel Help-->About and grabbed the machine id.
