Can anyone recommend a book detailing the Studies/Indicators that are included in MultiCharts? I currently have "TradeStation Made Easy" written by Sunny Harris.
Thanks,
Bill

Another book you might find helpful that has Multicharts examples is Cybernetic Analysis for Stock and Futures from John Ehlers.

Old Phart,

I am not aware of a book that specifically deals with studies included in Multicharts, but you should be able to find descriptions for the standard indicators either here on futures.io in the wiki or via google.
If you are looking to write your own studies or to understand the built in studies the programming guide for Multicharts.NET might be a good start: https://www.multicharts.com/downloads/MultiCharts.NET-ProgrammingGuide-v1.1.pdf

Regards,

Do you have the MultiCharts with EasyLanguage, or the Multichart.Net?
I've been demo'ing Multichart w EasyLanguage (since I can't stand Tradestation any longer) for about 2 weeks now. It seems very similar to the structure of Tradestation application... REALLY SIMILAR... So you can use any knowledge for Tradestation (books, EasyLanguage Tutorials...etc) and migrate that to Multicharts.
Multicharts.Net on the other hand uses C#. So programming EasyLanguage won't transfer. However, the software is still similar as far as the GUI.

There's also a book called 'Building Winning Trading Systems with TradeStation' by George Pruitt and John Hill. There's a decent amount of code in it, and I haven't come across a code example that wouldn't work in MultiCharts PowerLanguage.

It's a bit an old book, though. Mine is from 2003, which doesn't necessarily have to be a problem but new stuff isn't covered in it.

Keep in mind that if you do come across recent TradeStation EasyLanguage content that it's likely incompatible with MultiCharts PowerLanguage. That's because MultiCharts doesn't implement OOEL (Object Oriented EasyLanguage). So that code will have to be translated into the non-OOEL counterpart or is simply not possible in MultiCharts (without the use of a DLL).

I have that book. It's a good book if you don't have much experience with EL or Tradestation. It goes over building blocks and specifics of backtesting and report in Tradestation (very similar to MC)
