Hi,

I need to get the official opening price every day and I am using in my script the openD() reserved word. Unfortunately I am noticing that openD() catches only the opening price for the first daily bar in any resolution but it hardly ever corresponds to the official opening price. For instance the opening price is selected into the minute 09:00 am, but inside this minute there are many different ticks and I don't know what tick the market exchange selects inside the minute 9:00am. I am also noticing the all brokers have different instant opening prices at 9:00am but after some minutes they align to the official opening price which is decided by the market exchange. In Multicharts this alignment doesn't happen so the opening price of course will remain for the whole day as the instant opening price sent by my broker at 9:00am. Does exist a different solution?
Thank you

auato,

I don't think you can work with anything other than what your chart gives you in terms of data.

As you pointed out OpenD will simply give you the open of the first bar each day on your chart. If you want the open at at a different time you'd have to store the price at that time in a variable. Depending on the exact time that you want the open, you might have to use 1 minute data to obtain it.
