I'm interested in learning more about ninjascript and utilizing the strategy builder, specifically in NT8. Looking for good learning resources to check out. Videos, tutorials, etc. Can anyone point me towards some of those resources? Thanks in advance.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
You and I are on the same learning curve as to developing , programming, back testing, for ward testing trading strategies in Ninja Trader.
I am sort of a newbie to NT and its programming. I recommend starting here NinjaTrader 8 and just read in general like a book for understanding of how NT trading system works.
Here is what I am doing.
1. I am trying to understand in detail how the back testing system works. Because after all, when we develop/program a strategy we are depending (with some degree of accuracy) on the back test to take our trades per design. And we need to beaware of the discrepency in back test vs reality. https://ninjatrader.com/support/helpGuides/nt7/?discrepancies_real_time_vs_bac.htm Because we can design a decent strategy, run a back test for about 2 years of historical data and not really understand the accuracy of those results.
2. Then I move forward with using the strategy builder and learn all the details with that and follow some tutorials on you tube. I will make sure i study all the details with using strategy builder to its fullest extent. Kind of like study course.
3. Once I understand step 1 an do step 2 I can then move forward with how I will plan to back test a strategy and compare its accuracy with market replay. In simple, once I develop the strategy I can run it for 1 week of back test and then run it on market replay for that same week, just to get an idea of the accuracy results and if I am comfortable with the accuracy or if I need better accuracy of back test. Then I go from there on that mission.
So, I am basically just understanding all the details of NT before I start using it. Learning the NT market replay capabilities, back testing, and automation, and programming. As well as asking questions here.
