Hi I was just wondering if anyone can help me get a better perspective on a few things. I know this is tough to answer, I used to trade spreads and was in the poker scene for years and these kinda questions tend to get a vague reply but I'm just after what you know that I don't lol. Anyway I have been trading 6e on a sim and getting frustrated knowing I'm right next to costs. I discovered tradovate with 9c commissions per side and have looked into leasing a seat something I wouldn't do until I have gone live and put in the volume first as sim trading is simply sim trading. Anyway I tend to be centered around averaging 4 ticks and losing something similar as an average trade on 6e with a positive win rate, some demos tell me it's about 60 percent sometimes more. Some don't analyse the stat for me etc. Risk reward is not fixed but averages about 1:1. I think I'm doing about 30+ trades an hour during moving market times. I have done a thousand trades here and there on many sims and roughly it's working out to +$4.3 a trade on a 1 lot. I read taking 8 to 12 ticks a day after costs is about as sustainable as it gets from one single post... I still am putting in volume, I worry variance can be misleading to results and I just wanna get any info on people who leased seats and their opinions and others. Those leasing or those who have a seat do you feel it's a necessity, as in nobody can really trade ticks without reduced exchange fees, I mean I get the odd +12 tick trade but I scratch a lot cause I suddenly wanna be out etc. It makes it all pretty tight. Is $4 a trade, just running good with this kind of style? I sat there looking at winrates needed, put into excel, like taking 1 tick, 2 ticks and so on to see how commissions impact it, just to know how costly it is to get in and out. I'd rather be more active in the moment but costs sometimes make me wanna look at the slightly bigger picture am I really getting out to work 2 ticks well I'd have to be pretty accurate to do that and this is coming down so better to stay in. If it goes 3 ticks I can cut it there etc. That's why I feel a seat is really needed. Anyone sustaining above $4 a trade trading the small moves over a long period.
Anyway thanks. I know it's a question I can answer with results over time for myself but maybe I'll run into some other good stuff I missed by posting this. Cheers.
