I searched a bit on the forum on meditation. A few threads with focus on meditation were created in the past and the topic was mentioned a few times by @FuturesTrader71 in some of his webinars that I watched on the forum in the past.

From time to time, people mention meditation as part of their preparation work.

Tomorrow I will participate in an introduction on transcendental meditation.

I will share in this thread my experience and if I can see any edge in applying this technique in my work/trading.

Hi rleplae,

What resource did you find for the introduction?

I too was searching the forum for this topic through the week.

Thanks and best of luck.

Hi rleplae,

I too was searching the forum for this topic through the week.

Thanks and best of luck.

It is a free introductory live session (face 2 face, with other participants)
i guess they do that in all parts of the world

The reason i bumped into this, is somebody (who knows me very well) told me to do
i started googling it and bumped into the intro-session (few months ago), as time flies
it is tomorrow morning

If it feels good, i don't mind spending some $$$ on it and going through the learning
curve, not everything is about 'hard' skills, it is also about 'soft' skills...

I occasionally meditate in the mornings when I feel that I am not as balanced as normally for a couple of days.

To be honest, am not doing it frequently enough to really say that it's helping but the fact that I keep coming back to it at times of unease at least means I don't consider it worthless.

On the other hand, when I was doing it continuously for about a month or so, I didn't really feel the benefits that are so passionately described in the interwebz. Which might have to do with that I consider myself (and am considered by others) as a calm and well-adjusted person.

Only thing that gets me worked up at times is this... TRADING

TM is good but expensive... there is a book titled '10% Happier' that describes a person's experience with learning to meditate, it's an easy read.

True...
It costs a bit of money, but if it even gives me 1% edge, it is worth the money
