I would happily pay for a "something" that could take screenshots automatically for NT8. Let me explain:
Lets say I take a 5min chart of CL with 180 trading days and put some indicators(like vol). I would love for the "something" to take 180 screenshots, 1 of each day perfectly fit to my screen and stored in some folder with something like, date-market-timeframe.
So whatever setting I've picked(timeframe, trading hours, indicators...) it takes a screenshot of each day an stores it in a file so the user easily can go through them afterwards.
An alternative to this could be a way to write a date while in the chart. So instead of 1m for a one min chart, it could be something like 04/16 indicating it should go to the date fourth of april and center the chart to the middle of your chosen trading hours.
I'm thinking a lot of people could save a lot of time by either alternative.
Thanks.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
First thanks for spending time / energy... answering the post. I used the vvScreenshot indicator when I used NT7, but for me it never did anything else than take regular screenshots. There were no automation in the indicator. Which meant a lot of manual labor which is what I want to get rid of.
You can make screenshots automatically in NT8 with ALT + s, but again manual labor.
Anyway, I'll take a look at vvScreenshot again to see if its got automation. Using NT7 for backtesting is just as good as NT8 if you ask me.
There is a tool on FIO that can automate it. No one except admins can reply to this thread, so it's best to create a different post in Elite section to ask this question if you want to find the free answer. Maybe I am remembering the name wrong and it's not vv's tool, but automated timed captures with uploads/saves does exist already.
