So I'm not 100% sure how I am going to Journal my trades because I trade mostly off the DOM (Jigsaw Tools). I do video record my trades. However, it takes to much time out of my day to record my thoughts and to go over the few hours of recording. What I'm thinking of doing is to just do a screen shot and post my screen shots. Well, it's my journal I can do it anyway that I feel. I'm mainly doing this to help keep myself honest moving forward and if I post something then I know I'm being honest with all my trades. I'm also still SIM trading but I'm moving closer to live trading. This journal will decide if I'm ready for Live Trading in the near future. Notice how I didn't give myself a timeline on when I should go live. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Feels like a bad thing because I'm not committing myself to a specific month.
I mainly trade the German Bund because it fits my personality while at the same time fits the time of day that I can trade. I have been studying the markets for over 12 years now and know a lot about the market but was always missing something. I think I found it in the Jigsaw tools and I enjoy reading the order flow of the market. I only look at charts for areas that I would like to trade. I also look at Volume profile for areas on interest. That's it, no indicators of any kind. I use a 1 tick range, 3 tick range, 30 min chart. I look at the 30 min for my bias and the 3 range, 1 range, volume profile on the areas that are of interest to me. I also look at Cumulative Delta. Ooops, I almost forgot I also look at Jigsaw's Vista Heatmap for areas of high volume. Besides that, the rest is DOM reading from the Jigsaw Tools. My stop loss is 4 ticks. Once I reach 4 tick profit my stop loss automatically goes to breakeven and my profit target is 8 ticks. I know the profit target is too large. However, I have it there in case of a quick move or if momentum just keeps continuing. If it doesn't I exit the trade at the first or second sign of volume coming in from the other side.
I don't think I will be very good at journaling. Why? Because my descriptions will most likely be extremely short. Any input from anyone is greatly appreciated.
