Anyone has problem with recent window 10 updates? I used to have 2 extra monitors, but after the "forced" updates by windows, I lost one of my extended screen from mini display port. It just doesn't detect the port/adapter. The other screen from hdmi port works fine.
Tried updating the adapter drivers, didn't work.
Tried pulling out the adapter and plug back in, still the laptop doesn't detect it.
I am using MSI GE72 6QC. It has a Nvidia GTX960M.
Any help is really appreciated. Thank you.

I have been having this issue on and off since upgrading to Windows 10 quite a while back. I have noticed though that it would work fine for a while but then stop working when I upgrade my NVIDIA drivers. My trading machine has a NVVIDIA TitanX in. Now this is going to sound weird, but plugging the non working screen into and out of other ports on the card eventually resolves the issue until the next driver update. Irritating but has been working for me to get the screen going again.
Had the same problem. I don't know the real problem but it worked when I changed cable using another connection(from mini dp to hdmi). In your case you could try to change cable. If that doesn't solve it try hdmi or dvi
I run into this problem as well quite often, mine is after my pc goes to sleep and i wake it up one out of the three monitors wont turn back on and is always the monitor that is plugged in the bottom video card.
I run a custom pc with windows 8 (dont trust 10 yet)
2 nvida 560's with a SLI bridge
A ASUS motherboard SLI compatible and intel I5
120gb SDD and a 1tb HD
From what i understand the video card is working but wont wake up, at 1st i thought it was a cord or card but ruled that out
and the only way i can seem to fix the issue is by shutting down removing all power to the unit/cards and remove the sli bridge wait awhile plug everything back in and cross my fingers cause sometimes that doesn't work every time.
Also sometimes if it happens and i have a windows or nvida update, it will 95% of the time wake my card back up after the restart.
Also when this happens and the card doesn't wake up i go into nvida gforce options and configure sli option is not there and doesn't come back untill that card wakes up.
No real answers for you but maybe some helpful tips, don't let ur pc go to sleep lol
I run 12 monitors on Windows 10 and never had a problem. Custom PC running Nvidia NVS 510 and NVS 810. 8 screens are 27 inch and 4 are 20 inch. Currently have the latest Windows 10 updates.
