This is a question to the more experienced traders who have been through 2008 and 2012 and maybe before that. What happens during the election? Are the days marked for election public holidays and as a result are the markets closed (i'm not a US citizen so not sure how it works there) What's the liquidity like? What happened immediately post elections?

How do you think the markets will react if Trump gets the vote vs if Hillary does?

I think Fridays market reaction to FBI Director Comey's letter to Congress is a good indication of the Trump versus Clinton question.

A poll was conducted here on FIO regarding the market bias with the election results.

As far as the ES goes, if Clinton wins, the market is bullish.

If Trump wins, the market is bearish.

Now, if you want reasons, that may be better to find else where. Most of the reasons have to do with the candidates and talking about that will bring about a political debate which is not good.

I hope this answers your questions
