I have been trading SIL the mini/micro version of SI silver futures, ever since I got set up on QTrader earlier this year. It seems that almost no one knows about them, and I think they would gain in popularity quite quickly, but very few platforms list them as a tradeable contract, even though most people already have it available on their feed (CME Bundle, Comex etc). SIL is a 1000oz version of the big SI contract (5000oz) and though daily volume is fairly low still, it is much more liquid than the ICE micro silver contract YI, and no need to pay extra for ICE data.
Oddly though, and despite it being a CME contract, neither Ninjatrader, Multicharts or Sierra Chart list it in their available symbols with my CQG datafeed, even though I can pull it up on Qtrader easily. I did manage to add it manually to both MC.NET and Sierra Chart (Sierra was much easier to do this, MC was a bit difficult but doable) but unable to figure it out on Ninja so far. I put in a request to add it on Sierra to their list of tradeable symbols for CQG, so they should be able to do that easily, but in the meantime, at least for CGQ, just add the capital L after SI on the futures product code chart settings either on the DOM or chart, and you are done. on MC.NET you'll need to dig a bit deeper, input everything manually and then remap your symbols list.
Anyway, just letting you know there is a great, scaleable mini Silver contract to trade, hopefully more will get on this shortly.
Interesting. We're adding new features all the time. Can you PM me with your specific needs? Perhaps we've added it already or it will be available soon.
