Hi

I noticed, that lately I have not interest in trading at all. Sometimes it is at the peak and I think that I love trading. But more often my interest in trading is very low. Also I know that all professionals are adore what they do. It is sometimes sad for me, why I do not adore trading always (and why I do not adore something at all?)

P.S: My trading expirience is about 2 years, and I am not profitable, but I do not lose money (more, than 6 months). I have a system, but I do not like backtesting (I know that backtesting is neccessary).

How to increase interest in trading and do not let it fall?

Thanks for advice

I don't think many adore it always, even profitable traders have days or weeks that are just tiring. I know several millionare traders, some love it and some see it as a job nothing more. The thing that can be seen as 'love' is just the pleasure in applying the process efficiently. I'm answering this but I should be writing a short spec change for my bot developer. I only allow myself one diversion and I shall write the damned thing as soon as I finish.

If you have been trading for two years, are not profitable and habitually don't like doing the boring basktest work etc. then you probably lack discipline or talent for trading. I was a damn good swimmer but a small defect in my left shoulder joint meant I could never be an Olympian (just surgery after surgery until it was unfixable) and I had to accept that and find other ways to enjoy the world.

Consider taking a month break, get exercise etc. and give yourself the best chance, see if your mental energy increases. Be brutally honest with yourself, ego massage will only make things worse is my two cents.

People tend to be good at what the enjoy or love doing. If you don't love doing it then it will be hard for you to become successful at trading. You should probably do something else and just invest or do some sort of long-term trading that does not require lots of skill and discipline on a frequent basis.
