NinjaTrader Advisory #30 - ES/YM/NQ Roll Over Dates in NinjaTrader
Thursday, September 8th is contract rollover for several futures contracts including the ES. The rollover dates for these contracts will need to be manually configured in your NinjaTrader database.
First time switching over things live and I'm wondering if I did something wrong or if my NT isn't grabbing data properly.
I switched from NQ 09-16 to NQ 12-16 last night by clicking on my charts and typing NQ 12-16.
This morning my wicks looked a bit wonky but I didn't think much of it. Then I checked the NQ 09-16 to see if I moved to 12-16 too early and when I moved my charts back to 12-16 my candles were all fixed and my volume was much different than previously.
Here's my 12-16 15 minute chart showing that the volume is over 10K in just 15 minutes, and the chart below shows that my daily chart shows that the volume is less than 10K in the whole day.
What am I doing wrong?
Yesterday's excellence is today's standard and tomorrow's mediocrity
Did you review the Advisory and follow the steps to change the rollover date? If yes, please reach out to our Help Desk as they will be best equipped to resolve this issue.
I did but some people have pointed out to me that it's probably because most traders are still trading the 09-16 contract this morning. I don't think I need to bother support, thanks for the help though!
