My client had a strategy which appears in NT when you Create New Strategies. It is working fine, but the strategy is not anywhere to be found. I have looked for it in the Documents/NinjaTrader 7/Custom/bin/Strategy, but the strategy that is there with the same name is not the one appearing in the New Strategy dropdown list. The parameters are different. Does anyone have any idea how to retrieve this particular version from NinjaTrader.
The client spend many months putting it together, and never created a copy.
Thanks!

Try with to search for the strategy name in the files.
With a PowerShell, from the "My Documents\NinjaTrader 7\bin\custom\Strategy" folder, it's something like:
Select-String -Path *.cs -pattern <your strategy name>
You'll see in which file is declared this strategy name.

It's quite important to get in the habit of running backups on your machine exactly for this reason. I suggest purchasing a copy of Paragon Hard Disk Manager for example. Set backups to run every Friday for example in two diff folder that alternate so backups are kept for two weeks and there is always a copy available.
Set it and forget it. And then you never have to deal with a situation like this again. Or your client won't. Being serious about this business means conducting it like a business not a hobby or just a fun time. Backups need to be part of your business/trade plan without exception.
