Nice article written by our very own @kevinkdog from Jan issue of Modern Trader about what to beware of when considering following a trading educator or mentor. Nice mention of futures.io too...

It is a nice article and its a good reminder that fanboys and their social identity dysfunctions make life difficult by being both vapid supporters and easy prey for the confidence artists and their shills.

"Ignorance might be bliss for the ignorant, but for the rest of us it's a f****** right pain in the arse" Ricky G.

Edit: Hang on, I see Tradingschools is in the list of resources. Emmet Moore has the worst example of a honeypot I have seen in years. He is a conficted fraudster and felon who self-admittedly continues doing just that. I'm not sure he should be rewarded in the article

That said if you find a popular school or product not mentioned by Emmet Moore, it probably means its owned by someone substantial & competent enough that such a "survivor type" knows not to cross / has been warned off by. Or a fellow traveler.. can't win.

In fact in every review on tradingschools if the vendor supplies Emmett with any proof of trading, even if the results are relatively poor, the vendor gets a good review. The only ones who get bad reviews are those who give fake results or refuse to give any evidence of real trading.
And that is the way it should be Imo. Do you think he shouldn't ask for evidence?

With the greatest respect this response seems to be proof of the article being discussed perhaps?

The thing about a confidence artist is.. its a real skill, hence the artist part. Once a skill is acquired, it is invariably used. They never actually take anything from anybody.. they make you give to them willingly. You may not even know that what you are giving them has any value (as you are confident you know better), until it is too late.

I'm just going to bed before its morning here. I used to live near Chiang Rai, I miss the breakfasts (ok all the food)

May I first ask, have you fully read the posted article and also EM's "Warning", his autobiography which I linked to?

Please understand I'm not trying to split hairs just do you trust him and why?

yes, I read both. Is there something specific I am supposed to conclude ?

Why would I need to trust him, he is not selling me a $1000s dollar system, indicator, or trading room.
He is simply giving the results of his investigations into various vendors. One vendor - who has a very professional website perked my interest- but a google search showed he had been reviewed on tradingschools: Rightline Trading -Update- Trading Schools.Org

Read it and see if you think my trust or lack thereof about Emmett Moore, is material. As far as I am concerned the review provided useful information that in my case lead to me not pursuing the rooms offer. If that indicates I am somehow hooked into an "emmett cult" please do enlighten me.

Beware the cult of ideology. That they did not say.

You are never in the wrong place... but sometimes you are in the right place looking at things in the wrong way.
