I started running recently and saw some really cool GPS watches. Now, searching for one and currently I have my eyes set on Garmin Forerunner 225 with heartbeat monitor.
Wonder whether it can be used during trading to see whether my heartbeat fluctuates when entering the trades. It also has the sleeping monitor and some other jazz, which I think is really cool.
Any comments from fellow runners is deeply appreciated. Thank you.
I was looking into this recently. On ebay you can find those for $20 so it is a low priced test if you want to try it out. Since you want to monitor yourself when sitting I would get one with chest strip for better measurement. They have those for $50:
I have a Garmin that I use for running and cycling (Forerunner 910), and it is a good watch and I imagine it will work for what you want as the heart rate strap will measure a low enough beat to record the heart rate at rest. But I wouldn't bother buying one specifically for trading. Unless you intend to create a trading rule related to your exact heart rate measure then just assume it probably does increase when you enter or have a trade on and instead I suggest just focusing on deep steady diaphragm breathing instead of short shallow breathing when you start to feel a little tense.
Trading: 6C (Low Margin,) 6E, CL, GC, ES and Maybe DX for smaller tick value

@mykee, CNET is a great site for getting reviews of tech products. But be very wary of downloading anything from there. Many posts warn there are virus files up there.
It has a good review of the Forerunner including a video:
No virtual pacer. Very sad. Probably going to take this back and wait for Garmin to get it's act together and stop misleading the customers.
A runner is not likely to have big heart rate fluctuations entering, staying with or leaving 99% of planned trades. You probably would not find a watch worthwhile just for that. BUT as someone whom has crashed a few accounts it might stave off a heart attack when you are staring at the end of the account and your wife is in the next room. I certainly have felt the pounding of the chest that seemed bombastic.
The comment about getting one for about $20 to $50 was apparently meant for low end monitors since the Forerunner even on Ebay is still a couple of hundred from what I saw. As far as the ones that use the chest belt, they are good if you go to gyms since it can be used with the gym equipment.
That is what I got several years ago when preparing for a large hike in BSA's Philmont Ranch. SO it worked with my watch and gym equipment.
I hope you never actually have an experience where you are more than a bit curious about your heart rate. Like when crashing an account.

Completely love my Garmin fexin3 my 3rd Garmin wearable. Insane amount of data generated when combined with Garmin's HRM chest strap. I posted a number of screen shots in my trade journal here at FIO here
You are going to love it. Mine is just the Sapphire edition so I use a chest strap or the Life BEAM Hat. I have the foot pod too for better accuracy on the treadmill. Garmin keeps adding features as well just added audio alerts for the fenix3 for example. …
