Hello,

Is there a speed lag using the Spread Sheet to automate vs Custom Coded Study automated?

Or is it the same execution speed?

Linked with a Rithmic data feed going to IB broker.

If you think about it, the spreadsheet adds another layer of software to the mix, like an interpreter. By coding in ACSIL, you get to compile the code so it runs directly without an interpreter. I suppose they could build a compiled version of your spreadsheet to improve its performance.

A custom autotrader built in ACSIL would be more efficient, but the difference is negligible for all but the most complex systems.
I've built many autotraders, some quite complex, using the Spreadsheet System for Trading study, and they perform very well.
If you are using only a few charts, and avoid very short timeframes that would require an excessive number of spreadsheet rows, there is no perceptible lag.
