The variable for ARMS Ease of Movement indicator only has volume. But the standard ease of movement that I have been working with use number of period as input. See Ease of Movement [ChartSchool]

Is there any ease of movement indicator in sierra chart using number of periods as input?

@sw88 here is a link to Ease of Movement Indicator that has been modified, but i do not think it has the numbers input you are looking for, but the person that modified it may be able to help with what you want....maybe you could contact.

I think I found the answer. The ease of movement indicator in sierra chart is for 1-period. I can get those standard eom indicator by applying a simple moving average of my chosen number period. @sandptrader, thank you very much for inspiring me!

Great @sw88 i am Happy your able to customize this Indicator how you like.
If possible when you get finished working with it, and get it how you like....could you post a screen shot of the Custom
version on a chart?
I am sure some may be interested, and it would Spice up the Thread a bit
I would like to see more Indicators for Sierra.

@sw88 @sandptrader

Slightly off topic, but can I ask you guys why your profiles to the right of your posts don't show that you use Sierra Chart.

My (non statistical) observation is a lot more people are using (or experimenting with SC) on this forum than their profile suggests, just by the number of posts about SC from members who do not show SC in their profile.

I just think it helps build the Sierra Chart user base (especially on this site) if members see (via other members profiles) an increasing number of people switching to SC

To create Ease of Movement indicator like those show up on stockcharts.com etc, here is what to do:

This is the formula that I copied from stockcharts.com

Distance Moved = ((H + L)/2 - (Prior H + Prior L)/2)

Box Ratio = ((V/100,000,000)/(H - L))

1-Period EMV = ((H + L)/2 - (Prior H + Prior L)/2) / ((V/100,000,000)/(H - L))

14-Period Ease of Movement = 14-Period simple moving average of 1-period EMV

----

So, in Sierra Chart, the "ARMS Ease of Movement" basically is the 1-period EMV. Add this to the study, and hide it.
Next, add another study "moving average - simple", choose the input data as "EMV", change the period (Arms' book said he used 13-period), then apply.

end result

Thanks for everybody's help!

I am also in the process of migrating to Sierra Chart...So many features and Tools make this platform Great.
I am currently using TOS, NT7, and Migrating to Sierra.....i think by the first of the year Sierra will be my Main platform.
