Hi all ... I've been a member here for over a year and learned tons. I've take a couple of tries at trading, uncovered some issues (discipline and psychology mostly), and now am ready to relaunch.
I've developed my own take on the price action techniques that Welly, Mack, and others have taught me. Mostly the changes are to target longer mini-swings in the market and not just the 1 point grabs Welly made famous. I've added some pivot points, my own nomenclature, and some other stuff ... It seems to fit me and work pretty well.
I considered doing a combine, but i'm basically going to run a 2 week combine of my own, live. Similar to a one contract combine, the goals are:
* W/L ratio >50%
* 1 contract max across all instruments
* Instruments traded: ZB, ES, NQ
* Max draw down $750 (the experiment stops)
* Daily max loss: $320
* Profit target ... >$1,500
Each day i'll aim to post my Win / Scratch / Loss numbers, based on number of trades. I'm psychologically working to put the $ P/L farther away, so i'll post those only weekly (and only look at them then too if possible).
I figure that this is a robust test of the plan i have and my ability at this time to implement it. Pass, and I can continue, improve as I go, and scale up. If not able to do this; then back to the drawing board for tweaks or a rewrite.
I use NinjaTrader and a futures broker that starts with an A ... I appreciate Mike and the new futures.io ... (great name by the way) ... and appreciate any input or questions ...
