I recently downloaded NT7.0 and have been importing 6.5 indicators into it. Some successfully, some not so successfully. My problem is - some of the 7.0 versions don't work as they did in 6.5. One in particular seems to be predicting the future, by extending its zero line & zero line cross dots out to the right as far as you can imagine it would go. Even when set to CalculateOnBarClose = True; Doesn't seem to make a difference. Also, some of the other features i.e. vertical line, up arrow, down arrow options that were user-selectable in 6.5 have simply disappeared from the 7.0 indicator preferences panel. I know there have to be differences in how the 6.5 and 7.0 indicators are coded. I'd just like to know where to go to find out those differences & how to convert 6.5 indicators to work properly in 7.0

Any help / re-direction would be appreciated.

NinjaScript Code Breaking Changes in NT 7

Dear NinjaScript Developers,

With the introduction of NinjaTrader 7, migrating existing NinjaScript files will be one of the first things many users do. As such, providing forward compatibility from NinjaTrader 6.5 was always on the forefront of discussion during the development process and we have maintained compatibility as much as possible. There will be some unavoidable code-breaking changes to several NinjaScript methods and properties as a result of improving the overall product in terms of performance and feature enhancements. In the end, we feel that the changes will benefit all in the long run.

The following thread contains a PDF that outlines the code breaking changes and primarily focuses on supported NinjaScript methods and properties etc... If your product uses non-supported (non-documented) elements we strongly urge you to put your scripts through thorough testing to ensure they still behave as expected.

When you install NT, the source for the indicators is installed in My Documents\<NT version>\bin\Custom\Indicator. For example, the NT 6.5 indicator source is installed in My Documents\NinjaTrader 6.5\bin\Custom\Indicator. The source are C# files (.cs) and can be viewed with the Tools/Edit NinjaScript command from the Control Center. But be careful ... make a backup of the Indicator directory before viewing.

If you install both 6.5 and 7.0, you can compare the differences in the various indicators. Btw, I seem to be seeing slight differences in the Stochastics (@Stochastics.cs) indicator.
