Thanks TrendSeek & Max!

I noticed a very striking similarity of the AARMI (default settings) to BigMikes MACDZeroLagColors set at 12,17,9.

Just an observation for anyone interested in either indicator.

The upper panel is MACDZeroLagColors
The lower panel is AARMI
The background is being color by my SMI5, in case anyone was wondering how / what colored the background of the panels.

This is a screenshot from NT7.0 BTW.

After all, it's what you learn AFTER you know it all, that counts!

Hey WIZ.. does this mean that BigMike's MACDZeroLagColors works "as is" with NT 7.. or do you perhaps have an NT7 version handy? I checked in the downloads section here and it says still "untested" for NT7 and I've just been waiting for someone to tweak it (if necessary) so that I can use it there.

Happy Trading,
Randy

P.S. does anybody also happen to have an NT 7 version of the RHeikenAshi indicator? I don't care for the NT7 H.A. bar type set up.. as it won't work for what I need.. I need an actual indicator and RHeikenAshi was ideal.

Randy,

As far as I can remember (back about a week ago, which is a long time for me to remember anything), I simply imported it into NT7 from a folder I keep on my desktop where I save a copy of everything I've downloaded. Can't remember having any issues with the import. It imported fine, overlays on the price panel or any sub-indicator panel just fine.

For my purposes I changed the defaults from 12,26,9 to 12,17,9 and that's when I noticed that it looked very similar in how it plotted, compared to the AARMI posted in this thread.

I like the MACDZeroLagColors because it contains an ADX line, which is helpful and it also plots the MACD and the DIFF so you can see potential price direction changes a bit in advance of some other oscillators. I overlay it on the SMI5, which I find very helpful, too - almost magical in some instances. I'm sure anyone could do likewise with other combinations of indicators. This was just an observation of mine. Thought it might be helpful to point it out.

On another note, one thing I've noticed is that if you try to import a 6.5 indicator into 7.0, and for some reason or another there's a problem with it, 7.0 will tell you & prevent the import. Some have imported successfully, others have not. Even if they do import properly, they may not have all the features they had in 6.5. I haven't figured this out yet.

I made a few revisions to MACDZeroLagColors (drawing lines, painting arrows, playing sounds, etc) and those features, although they're still contained inside the indicator code, no longer show up as user-selectable items in the indicator preferences panel. Don't know why, but the main plots of the indicator do work, and seem to be identical in performance to the 6.5 version.

After all, it's what you learn AFTER you know it all, that counts!

Wiz.. Thanks for that info.. I will attempt to import it into NT7 now and see what comes of it. I too like it.. but I don't overlay it on another indicator. I have looked at the SMI5 and I agree that in certain instances it is uncannily accurate, while at other times really not so wonderful, but that is the way with nearly any indicator of note.

Right now I am more concerned with trying to ascertain the real numbers for the eminis for Thursday's close, Friday's activity and Sunday's Globex open... as nothing really adds up. Thursday's debacle seems to have thrown a real monkey wrench into the numbers. Doesn't give me a warm and fuzzy for continuing trust in the exchange data and chart pricing.

Just a quick follow-up Wiz.. the indicator imported just fine into NT7 and appears to be operating just fine.. which is more than I can say for the historical data servers, daily closes, etc. since the Thursday debacle.

Thanks for your help,
Randy
