Today I hit a new level of frustration with Ninjatrader and I'm trying out Multicharts .NET as a potential replacement. Almost all of my trading is automated and I had a few questions maybe people here can help with...

First.. for those who use MC for automated trading are you happy with it? Any drawbacks I should know about?

Does a single MC license allow you to run it on multiple machines? For example I have my auto trading systems running in a VPS and do development on a laptop at home. Is that allowed or do I have to buy multiple copies?

Also, does MC allow you to enable automated strategies on start? basically if my machine crashes and restarts for some random reason, can I have MC automatically enable predefined strategies on startup?

I typically include external functions such as writing data to a Sql Database or calling a REST based API from some of my strategies, I assume since everything is C# like ninjatrader this shouldn't be a problem but do you guys see any issues doing this with MC?

figured out the license thing. basically only 1 copy can be online at the same time.

so you have to download historical data and go offline to do development if you have another copy autotrading.

Yes, that's saved in the workspace (so it does require that your strategies have automated trading enabled when you save the workspace).

You can add the DLL in the PowerLanguage .NET Editor for that. It shouldn't be a problem at all.
