I am using the stocastic momentum indicator in Sierra. I want to color a bar based on whether the fast d is above the k and vis versa. How can I achieve this...any help would be appreciated.

Questions:

1) The SMI study does not display the %D and %K; It displays the SMI and a MA of it. Are these the two lines you want to use to trigger alerts?

2) When the SMI is above its MA, do you want all bars colored, or just the first bar?

3) Do you want a different color when the SMI is below its MA?

First put in a stochastic momentum study in your chart( later on you can hide this study if you like it that way) , let's say this is id1 with sg1 and sg2, you can use a Color Bar Based On Alert Condition study and put the following condition in : id1.sg1>id1.sg2.
A second Color Bar Study can be used for the condition: id1.sg1<id1.sg2. Then you will have you candles colored.

In general if you want to have more information about how to use Sierra Charts , here is a lot of info
