Here's a good quote I came across online, and that rings true for me:
"Forget about motivation. Motivation is fickle and fleeting. You can be incredibly inspired at 2:00 AM and completely lose it the next morning. Discipline is the only thing you can count on to show up every day."
Imo the only motivation you need is to get up and sit down at the desk. Motivation doesn't make a difference to the markets. You have to actually be able to trade a plan or you'll act randomly and your results will be random. Discipline is what it takes to actually succeed, motivation is just showing up.
When you try to manufacture motivation and discipline using will power, it wont go very far. If you are passionate about what you are doing or what you are trying to accomplish, motivation and discipline will show up. If you dont have true passion for what you are doing no amount of will power can sustain motivation and discipline.
This is the difference between Job and a Career. Job is something you do for survival, making ends meet. Career is something you aspire to do, look forward to doing it every day. Question is do you have a Job or a Career ?
