I'm attempting to use Multicharts with IB TWS, I am only using delayed free data with TWS and I downloaded the no charge version of Multicharts because I don't need to trade directly from the charts.
I've followed the instructions for setting up Multicharts to accept the IB datafeed, opened the trader configuration window and enabled Active X and socket client, created trusted IP address ect. No issues.
However when I try to set up the IB data feed within Multicharts and goto File, new, the quote manager window is not listed, I cant access quote manager it's not even there....
1. Is it because its not possible to use the free IB delayed data with multicharts?or were is the quote manager?
2. Another strange thing that is happening is I've got 2 prior order placed in que thru TWS (a buy stop and a sell stop)waiting to be filled, but every time I open the Multicharts it keeps adding the same order to the Position Tracker window.....it now shows about 6 orders(the same amount of times I've opened Multicharts) but TWS only shows the 2 orders as being active and when I log out it reminds me of the 2 orders I have. Is it normal for Multicharts to keep adding exising orders in que into the Position Tracker window everytime you connect to multi charts?
Thank- you for your help!!

Look at your desktop. it should have a multicharts quote manager there with an icon.

I didn't encounter that, but I think I know the cause. MC for TWS doesn't give you access to the Quotemanager, hence it's greyed out or not shown.
@north88 with the IB version I would expect the IB datafeed to be set up already and there should be no need to configure it. Although this is just a guess, I never used this MC version.
I called multicharts support and they were most helpful.
There is no quote manager in the TWS version of multicharts, because its specific to TWS...
Multicharts for TWS will not work with the TWS free delayed data, you must have a TWS data subscription.
So I subscribed to the data, and I enter symbols and open charts thru the instrument menu...its working fine.
