I have been paying Tradestation $6.99 per contract per side for trading NYMEX CL

Is this a competitive price? or any better price available out there for trading CL?

Mirus is $5.02 rt all-inclusive for the first 500. You can find better than that if you want, I am thinking Infinity is about $4.25 rt but has higher margins. TradeStation is probably the most expensive

Quick

Yes, good to point out --- OP says $6.99 per side... wow!!! that's $13.98 rt, and does it include fees? My example of Mirus is $5.02 round turn and includes all fees, like Sam says it's 2.51 per side.

Actually Mike, I have an account (inactive) with Infinity & there margin requirement is $500 flat for all futures contracts. Sounds ridiculous but that was the requirement for ES.

I'm not sure on there margin requirement for CL, I suppose it should be $500, I'll follow up with them tomorrow.

I would be surprised if it is $500 for CL. $400 and $500 is not unusual for ES, but CL is usually $1000 (Mirus) and sometimes $2000 (IB).

According to TradeStation's Commission page, I get the following:

For CL on NYMEX:
--------------------------TradeStation Fee----Reg. Fee----Exchange Fee----Total Commission
<=300 Contracts---------------1.20-------------.01------------1.45--------------2.66
301-1000 Contracts------------1.00-------------.01------------1.45--------------2.46
1001-10,000 Contracts---------0.65-------------.01------------1.45--------------2.11

These are for 1 side, 1 contract. Therefore, 1 R.T. would be:
5.32 (<=300 contracts/month),
4.92 (301 to 1000 contracts/mo.)
4.22 (1,001 to 10,000 contracts/mo.)

For the e-miNY (QM) on NYMEX:
--------------------------TradeStation----Fee Reg. Fee----Exchange Fee----Total Commission
<=300 Contracts---------------1.20-------------.01------------1.20--------------2.41
301-1000 Contracts------------1.00-------------.01------------1.20--------------2.21
1001-10,000 Contracts---------0.65-------------.01------------1.20--------------1.86

These are for 1 side, 1 contract. Therefore, a R.T. would be:
4.82 (<=300 contracts/month),
4.42 (301 to 1000 contracts/mo.)
3.72 (1,001 to 10,000 contracts/mo.)

What am I missing?
