The reason I ask is this: I have been keeping a basic trading journal for over a year, but I rarely go back and read my journal entries. Content tha deals with emotional state, state of rest/tiredness and sometimes a play by play of my thoughts/emotions while in a trade are not conducive to creating statistics so that data is stored but not really used.
I've read several threads on futures.io (formerly BMT) about journaling but they seem to focus on the tools used or the importance of journaling, but I haven't found anything (other than trade statistics) that the journals are used for. And, as I mentioned above, the content not directly tied to a trade (entry price, setup, expectation, etc) are not really conducive to generating stats.
How do you guys use your trading journals past the current week/month/year (again, other than to generate trade statistics).
