I Need a bit of help with Migrating Ninjatrader 7, as well as Sierra Chart to a New Computer.
There are seperate issues for each Platform on new computer.
On Ninjatrader 7 i cannot get My Custom Indicators to load.
On Sierra Chart there is a Message that says "MSVCR100.dll is missing on your computer"
So Sierra Chart will not allow me to log on once i click on Icon that message appears.

I am able to use Ninjatrader 7 on my new computer with Windows 7 Pro 64 bit without issues, but i cannot get the custom Indicators to load by way of importing through Ninjascript.
There is message that says there are Errors with Indicators and i must compile them before i can import them.
I have tried but i cannot get passed this.
On my old computer i am using Version 7.0.1000.14 and new Version is 7.0.1000.26 current on the new computer.

I was Successful with Migrating ThinkorSwim over to the New Computer with Exactly how it was on the old Computer.
All of the settings/work spaces were just how i had them set up on the old computer.

Your custom indicators (and all the standard ones, too) on Ninja are in this folder:

C:\Users\your user name\Documents\NinjaTrader 7\bin\Custom\Indicator

(Where "your user name" is, well, your user name on that computer. )

If you download and install NT on the new PC, it will create these folders. You can then just copy the indicators from the old to the new. Use a thumb drive or even a DVD if you're not on a network.

You can also get to the folder by just clicking on Documents and going to NinjaTrader 7 and then drilling down to the Indicator folder.

I seem to remember that there may be issues is you have indicators with custom .dll's. I don't recall the solution there.

Otherwise, just copy your indicators to the same folder on your new machine. Then you'll need to open the NT Edit Ninjascript window and compile any indicator at all -- it will force a compile of all of them.

You can also get your custom templates, if any, from the C:\Users\bobwest\Documents\NinjaTrader 7\templates\Chart folder.

This should do it for NT. No idea about SC, sorry. You could try posting on their user board, or searching it first.

Bob.

For some indicators you can't just migrate them by export/import route. Find their zip file and import them directly to your new ninja.

For Sierra, copy your old directory from old computer to the new computer (C:\SierraChart). Then, download and install Sierra from their website. This will install the missing Microsoft libraries and keep all your settings.
