I downloaded an indicator (for NinjaTrader), installed it like a million other times, when try to apply indicator to a chart, i cannot find it. I know its there because when I try and re install, again, Ninja window pops up stating, you have this, do you want to replace it. The indicator I am trying to use is Moving Average slope MA Slope. can anyone help me?
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Find the original .zip folder you downloaded. Double-click the .zip folder. Inside the .zip folder will be an Indicator folder. Double-click the Indicator folder and inside it will be the actual .cs file name. Then you can search for the name of the indicator in your indicator list.
After all, it's what you learn AFTER you know it all, that counts!
The only other thing I can think of suggesting is to look at the top of your indicator list. Sometimes, for what reason, I do not know, people will put a space or two spaces before the indicator name and some indicators I've imported show up in the list as " ", but when you click on it, the name appears in the indicator preferences panel. TripleEMAPainter and CandleOutlineColor are two that come to mind - both show up as " " in the indicator list. Also, any indicatosr by @Fat Tails, show up with "ana" as a prefix. Just trying to help.....
If I may ask - what is the indicator in question?

I find that problem about 50% of the time if I install a zip file when I use the file/utilities then import Ninjascript option in the Control center. So when that happens I have I just click on the zip file and open it and then copy and paste the cs.file manually into the Documents/Ninjatrader 7/ Bin/ custom/ indicator file
then you just open the indicator in the control panel tools/edit ninjascript file area and then just compile it.
Works like a charm... for some reason that keeps it from doing the Houdini act...
Thanks for your help. I am still a bit confused. I did as you said "copy the cs.file manually into the Documents/Ninjatrader 7/ Bin/ custom/ indicator file.
You then said open the indicator in the control panel tools/edit ninjascript file area and then just compile it. Well I do not know how to "compile it"
I went to control panel tools/edit ninjascript, but what do I do at that point ? (please - thanks)
The next thing to click on is edit Ninjascript/ indicator , Then you at that point should at least see your indicator in the list of them. Then click on your indicator that you should see in the list of all your indicators. Then at the top of the code box of your indicator just click compile. At that point you should start to see your indicator when you put your cursor over a chart and click indicators.
If at this point you still don't see your indicator there then there is something else that's a issue like maybe a locked code or there is already a similar code version already installed in your indicator.
