I'm playing with MC 6 beta 2, and trying to make this work, using IB as my brokers, but it seems that nothing happens, the signals are there, but nothing seems to be sent.
Before sending a bunch of screenshots, for being sure that I didn't miss any settings (I don't think so, but who knows), I was wondering if someone has already done this, auto-trading with MC 6.

Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
I don't use IB, but with Zen I didn't run into any problems with communication to/from MC and strategy orders.
When you first click the "SA" down arrow button (Strategy Automation) on chart, I select Zen Fire and then it logs in and I can see connection settings, order settings and symbol dictionary.
If I do SA -> Strategy Properties, I can fine tune control of how orders are managed like so:
At the very bottom make sure IB is selected (where mine says Zen Fire).
As soon as you enable SA itself, by clicking directly on the SA button, you should get some MultiCharts log messages popup that confirm connection and status.
You can also open File - New - Order And Position Tracker window to see status and logs of the strategy transactions. Maybe check Logs for possible errors? Like so:
Thx Mike, it works, I though that setting the signal status to "on" was enough, which is not the case, the "SA" button must be used, and is now green for me.
Sam028, how did this combo work out for you?
Could you run some strats in the paper account while running other strats in the live account from the same machine (or do you need 2 MCs)?
Was the connection and trading stable?
Did you use TWSStart to stay logged in?
Thanks
@Stem1, it's a bit old, but yes, you can have a single MC, connected to two different brokers (so 2 different IB accounts too), and decided on which account runs your bot.
I did not use TWSStart, I use the official IB Gateway.
Thanks. From memory, the gateway doesn't provide any accounting or trade position recognition (I think), thus relying only upon MC. Did you have any problems losing sync with your trades and accounting when you had disconnections?
Are you still using MC/IB? If not, can you give some indication of the elements that moved you away from this combo?
Thanks
Sorry, I didn't use it enough to give a reliable judgment.
I used it few weeks, and didn't had any problems, but never had to deal with all possible funny stuff we can have with live ATS's.
