I am trading the fdax future and would like to extend my trading now to YM and ES.
My trading is mainly based on market structure informations like Volume profile, 70% Value area, VPOC, VWAP, 1st standard deviation low/high, numbers bars charts, etc.
I use the trading plattforms Sierra chart and NinjaTrader combined with Continuum and Iqfeed data feed.
Due to the fact that the volume profile can be strongly affected by the beginning and end of the session time my question is:
Which session time for the YM and ES future is used by the commercial and professional traders for trading with volume profile.
Is it
1. the short "standard" session time ranging from 9:30am to 16:00pm (EST) or is it
2. the entire 24 hour session (with its short interruptions) ranging from 0:00am to 23:59pm (EST=New York Time). Is the use of EST (=New York time) correct at all or is it more common practise to use the Chicago time for the trading within the 24 hour session?
