Hello,
My name is Frank and I am a civil engineer, I live near London but still quite far out (technically surrounded by fields so still in the sticks!)
I have always been fascinated by trading but have never had enough time to myself to set up and give it a go.
My wife and I had children when we were young and spent our 20’s raising them, now that they are old enough I have some time to finally get stuck in!
The forum looks great and there seems to be a lot of interaction and discussion as well as frequent webinars.
So where does a beginner start?
Well I have some idea of what to look into, let me tell you the story…
During the summer term when school was out I used to work for a construction company that strictly dealt with expensive projects I’m talking central London flats that were having millions of pounds worth of work done to them.
I was interested in trading at this point in my life and my boss told me that the owner of one of the projects was a hedge fund manager at J.P Morgan in Canary Wharf. I thought to myself I have to speak to this guy!
I was an assistant project manager at the time so I would come to site and check everything was going to plan and one day the owner of this particular flat was present overlooking the work being carried out so I had a chance to speak to him.
I explained to him that I was very interested in trading and asked if there was anything he could tell me to get me started or point me in the right direction.
He only told me one thing and that was auction market theory, I would have to figure the rest out myself…
So here I am years later and this is the beginning for me to figure out the rest I guess.
Thank you for reading and I hope to learn a lot from here as well share ideas and contribute to the forum.
Frank
