I had an epiphany of sorts lately and realized i am simply a crap trader when mark grinds away in a trend move. But rotational markets i can pick off trades all day. I know i watch longingly as a market races away without me but i wonder if trading range bound markets versus trending are mutually exclusive mind sets. I would be curious as to other opinions on this. Ciao.

and in turn taught others...to trade what is there. Mastering one skill is difficult enough, but imo it is requisite if you expect to be long term consistent.

You trade what is there but you also only trade when you have an edge. If you have no edge in trends, don't trade trends.

Personally I have different strat/rules for a range vs a trend. My only job when I trade is determine the context and apply the correct strat when trading. In a trend buy or sell on pullbacks, in a range buy low sell high and scalp.
