Hi all, I'm fairly new to trading and very new to this forum so wasn't sure where to post this but the beginners section seemed as good a place to start off.
I've been using stockcharts.com and finviz.com and while I really like the functionality of both of them I am from the UK and was wondering if there are similar sites out there that cover UK stocks?
Thanks in advance!
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Thanks for the links but unless I am missing something they don't have the same scanning features, being able to filter by various technical indicators and candlestick patterns as well as fundamental data was what I was looking for, sorry for not being specific enough!
I have found a few including barchart.com and digitallook.com that include some technical analysis but not to the same degree as stockcharts.com where you can fully customise filters for all sorts of indicators, daily close of SMA, daily SMA of volume, relating daily close to bollinger lines etc.
Would I be better off just using a trading package such as Ninjatrader for this? I am currently using sharescope but the customiseable scans to get what I want involve coding which I know nothing about.
1. Other than North American stocks, the service works for London, Australian and Indian stocks only.
2. you can easily customize the parameters for indicators if you use non-standard settings and You can add as many indicators as you want.
3. you can see that this chart does not update until the following day...Intra day charts are not available unless the stocks are Canadian or American.
4. the upgraded service (which I don't use) has a stock screener but not sure how good it is or if it applies to non-North American stocks
BigCharts.com
1. creates a stock chart for any company in the world (as far as I can determine anyway) including France, Germany, Japan...even the Phillipines.
2. very limited in the number of indicators you can display at one time and the parameters of indicators are ONLY based on default values.
3. Though there delays involved in the reporting, this service can display intra-day charts and displays the current day's candlestick in the daily chart
4. no real stock screener that I can find...most screeners are junk anyway.
