I'm trading equities with a prop firm, and there are a lot of keyboard keys that are available for shortcuts such as ARCA Buy Limit, ARCA Buy Close, Delete All Orders , Delete Buy Orders, Delete Sell Orders, etc.

So I'm wondering if anybody out there takes advantage of all these keys, and has a keyboard with custom colors and key labels. If so, which would you recommend?

Yeah - sure.

Keyboard:
I have slow hands so I bought one of these.

Ninjatrader has a HotKey manager where you can do lots of thing and this keypad allows you to very easily programme things so that it's nice and easy to do things.

Panel

Another idea is to do something like the Mini Trade Panel from @vvhg. In the latest version it's got some inbuilt different trade types.

Keyboard Trader:
When he is not busy sprinting the DAX and working on his documentation, the boy @ratfink is taking the ball and running with a sort of merged concept of the mini trade panel and a hotkey system.

It's not ready yet but soon will be.

The magic:

Now, he (ratfink)probably doesn't realise it , but the combo of
- keyboard trader
- Ninjatrader strategy
and ... context
is actually very powerful.

If you can break down the functions you require of Ninja and then think of where the best places and times are to use them ... you could be on to a winner.

But maybe they taught you all this stuff in the prop shop ... maybe you're miles ahead already ... I hope so !!!!

best regards

p

He'd never have thought of that.

I would be interested in standard keyboard with custom colors keys, and perhaps key labels.

For the true custom keyboard man - you'll want one of these.

WASD Keyboards Custom Mechanical Keyboards and Cherry MX Keycaps

or one of these ..

My teenage son has one. It's very loud (sounds like an old typewriter) chunky and clunky, fast and you can color it whatever way you like.

I use an iMAC .. so it just seems a bit inappropriate :-)

Take a look at gaming keyboards: The 10 Best Gaming Keyboards | PCMag.com

As well as a gaming mouse. Mine, Logitech G700s, has 11 programmable buttons that are used to place limit or market orders and adjust existing orders.

I've bought a keyboard on EBAY for $50. The one with the touchpad. It's perfect for trading.
