Hello Traders,

I been trading options for 3 years. In the first year, I doubled my account without putting in a lot of time. During this time, there was less of a need to make money. In the second year, I spent more time trading and loss what i made . Then I took a few months away from trading. In the third year, I started focusing on trading psychology and volume and try to slowly rebuild up my account. Currently, I am trading options on the major US indexes.

I have learned from my mistakes such as trading options that are not liquid and entering a trade to early or to late.

Hope to learn more from this forum.

Do you have any suggestions for risk management for buying and selling calls and puts?

- Know how much you want to lose before you enter a trade.
- Understand that short term options are feast or famine and is like playing a videogame on its hardest difficulty setting... in the hopes of a big payoff, you are putting a lot of odds against you, primarily theta
- Van Tharp is a douchebag, but his book is biblical when it comes to risk management. Read it, learn it, and own it.

Thanks Bermudan Options,

I will read that book by Van Tharp. I hope this will help me develop techniques to have more consistent profits in my options trading.
