This past Wednesday (the day the Big Mike site went down) my IP address location change to Lena Illinois (over 1,000 miles away). So when I go to different websites Illinois stuff is brought up. First time this has happen. Could someone be spoofing my IP address or using a proxy without me knowing. Thanks for any advice
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
weather.com, bizbuysell, enters Illinois as the state and others. So I did ip location search at iplocation.net. I call my internet provider and they said no changes on their end. First time I have ever seen this. I know there are so computer guys on here with a lot knowledge so I thought I would ask.
Your IP does show Illinois while previously it showed Texas.
It is the same ISP, the same owner of the IP block. So probably they just re-allocated some IP's and haven't properly updated the geography records. It is quite unlikely you will be able to talk to anyone on the phone that has a clue about this, it would be handled by the network administrators of the ISP.
