Hello traders

when looking at orderflow footprints I notice waves of sellers/buyers coming in. Time-based charts don't display those waves and price movements in a good way...

What kind of charts do you use? I'd like to catch those waves for scalps. Would maybe Time&Sales be better?

Thx, Chris

Typically you do see these a more aggregated view as well. The market will typically thrash around in attempt to test prices above and below the current level on all timeframes (as people are trading using different views and investment horizons).

The order flow will I guess tell you the flow of that process intra bar. Similarly if you move down to a 'faster' time frame you'll see more details/evidence of 'waves' within the 'slower' time frame patterns.

Time and sales is bread and butter for this at the lowest level and will definitely give you clues as to pressure on the bid and on the ask.

Hope that helps.

Sands.

If you want to chart order flow, as opposed to using DOM's, then look at Bookmap. Multiple webinars on futures.io (formerly BMT) about it.
