I wonder how many traders have a system of warming up before going live in their trades?
For years i would wake up , make espresso half a sleep and then wander over to my desk turn the screens on and then the day would vanish. I had some practices, on occasion of marking key levels, but often forgot about them later in the day as my mind got lost in the screen.
I spent years boxing and before you fought you had at least twenty minutes of warm up with your coach. Drills and loosening up. Anticipating slipping and getting hit. By the time you walked out you were pumped up and your mind and body were as ready as the could be. Trading is action reaction and mental focus. Everything an athlete readies himself for. Professional golfers spend hours hitting balls before they step on the course for real. I could not find any threads on this topic of pre trade preparation and rituals.
I thought it might be helpful to open this type of discussion up. Any or all of the following ,properly hydrating with lots of fresh water, vocalizing your trading rules to yourself, creating warrior mindset, meditation, physically warming up, fresh raw foods to feed the body good energy, practicing on historical data, how you will handle bad situations before you go live etc. What do you do before you starting trading each day?
