Is there any indicator for Ninjatrader, which is coloring the tick bar based on timewindows? (no not the background, the bars itself). Example:
I want to color the tick bars if the time is between 9:40:30 and 9:44:30 (second count as well).
I am using different tick charts so if the tick bar color has to be changed if the times occure and it has been not closed yet...
My guess there is no indi like this, but any help, would be appriciated
Thanks for the challenge. Wow Watching Webinars here is really helping that and LearnVisualStudio.NET free C# classes. Mostly the webinars here though. Saw your question and figured I'd give it a stab. As you can see from the picture I tested it using a minute chart. I don't have a 30 second chart, but I did code for that. (WOW Plus the light is going off in my head now how to input times into my strategies and indicators as a variable. Thanks)
Attached are pictures, and indicator with compiled code.
Hope this helps you. I have still been working on how to be able to have time variables changed on strategy entry. The one that I wrote for you is hard coded, but easy enough for you to go in and change to your liking.
Thanks for the challenge.
Thanks to Big Mike for this site and all the encouragement.
Thanks to NinjaTrader Josh for his webinars also as they helped to solidify some of these C# mysteries for me.
Okay like I said you had me thinking. Thanks.
Here is what you can do next download the TimeZoneColors indicator here on Big Mike's Trading Forum. That is the one that I use for back coloring my chart with light smoke, but to each their own. First save it as TimeZoneBarColors after you import and then edit script. You can also open the script I gave you cut and past that in for where you want changes to bars instead of background colors. For the seconds you are going to have to add some variables to the logic, but it can be done.
Go one change at a time so if the indicator bombs you have less troubleshooting involved.

To make it color your time window, you need to go to "Tools", "Session Manager" and segment the day as you like.
Then on your chart, you select that Session Template you created, by going into "Data Series".
Once you activate the indicator on your chart, you can then edit the colors.
6E is an interesting instrument as you can trade the European or the US session. 6E moves in parallel with EURUSD, and the two instruments would have a different session setup, which does not really make sense. I have not solved the puzzle, and maybe …
