Multicharts 9 beta with portfolio trading is out now
I have been very Interested in MultiCharts and will probably get it someday. Have recently decided to purchase NinjaTrader instead because it just seems that NinjaTrader will better meet needs for forex. This is one feature that I would really enjoy with them I think.
I'm am a user and fan of Multicharts but unfortunately the new Portfolio Trader still doesn't support IntrabarOrderGeneration, making it completely useless for anyone who trades with IOG
The no support for IOG was stated on the MC support forums. I'm unsure if it supports tick data, bar magnify and extended backtest mode for using bid and ask data.
It was very disappointing to find out that bar magnifier and extended backtesting is not supported.
I dont get the point of it without those things ? I cant use it.
Totally agree Shane. It was also stated on the MC forums that its "not technically possible at the moment and that is less likely it will be changed in the nearest future".
Does anyone know if the new NinjaTrader 8 can do portfolio backtesting with bar magnify, extended backtesting (bid/ask) and IntrabarOrdergeneration?
I have found the MC management and development to be very receptive to the needs of traders.
Let me see if I can appeal on your behalf. For Automation MC is one of our preferred platforms.

@NinjaTrader Ray has said that no portfolio backtesting is part of NT8 in his webinars. I wish it was, but have built my own platform to handle my own portfolio needs. I wish more retail platforms would go this direction however for the benefit of all traders.
